Bio:

Dr. Mokhtar Tabari serves as an Assistant Professor at University Canada West while also contributing his expertise as a sessional instructor at UBC Sauder and Capilano University. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Calgary, an MSc. in economics from the Institute for Management and Planning Studies, and a BSc. in industrial engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Tabari’s research interests include international economics, productivity growth, and energy and environmental economics. He also conducts research on innovative teaching methods, such as integrating peer assessments within flipped classroom design and the use of live cases in teaching business courses. He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences and has published his research in prestigious journals such as Energy Economics.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Tabari's goal is to create an inclusive, respectful, and engaging learning environment that helps students from different academic backgrounds and cultures develop a deep understanding and appreciation for economic theories and concepts in a way that welcomes their unique perspectives and experiences.
